Meet the Staff
Dr. Larry W. McCoy, DDS
Larry McCoy moved back to Virginia in 1968 and graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1969. He attended both Virginia Tech and VCU in Richmond, Va. where he was married to Trudy Griffith in 1974 and graduated in 1975 with a degree in Business with a specialty in marketing. His first son, Will was born in Dallas, Texas in 1975. After working several years, Larry attended Baylor college of Dentistry. Like precious bookends, Austin was born the first year of Dental school and Amy was born the last year. He graduated in 1983 and began to practice in Dallas with Dr. Ed Lutz. Dr. McCoy applied for the position of Public Health Dentist in Christiansburg in 1985 where he worked for 13 years. Their last child, Tim was born in 1991.
In 1998, Dr. McCoy felt led to move the family to Bolivia, South America in order to do medical mission work. He was able to serve as medical missionary to the tribal people as well as to the city dwellers for 3 years. The experience was a wonderful blessing. The Doctor used his skills as a dentist to attract the people to hear the truth of God's salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. There were many languages spoken in the different locations yet the local Christians and Pastors faithfully communicated the gospel to those who came.
Returning from Bolivia brought the McCoys full circle back to New River Valley. They reside in Giles, where Trudy enjoys horseback riding and spending time with their grandchildren. Larry's hobbies include amateur radio and gentleman farming.
Dr. Brandon White
We are glad to welcome Dr. Brandon White and his wife, Dr. Julie White, to our office. Dr. Julie worked here when she was a pre-dental student in 2006 and then went on to dental school at VCU/MCV, where she met Brandon. We are confident that Dr. Brandon will be a great addition to our staff and encourage our patients to schedule with him. He will be in the office on Fridays to start, and then hopefully expanding his schedule soon.
Dr. Brandon White is originally from Forest City, North Carolina. He attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh, earning a degree in Economics. He then completed his dental training at the Medical College of Virginia, where he met Julia, a classmate (and fellow dentist) who would later become his wife. After completing his General Practice Residency at the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Dr. White and his wife loved Roanoke so much they decided to make their home there. The Drs. White have one daughter Emerson Grace who will be a year old in August.
Dr. White is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Virginia Dentistry Association, and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society. He is a volunteer with the Mission of Mercy Project, which provides free dental services to thousands of underserved members of the Roanoke Valley community, and has also served with international dental missions.
When not at the office, he enjoys golf, exercise, and spending time with Julia, Emmie and their beagle Marley. He attends Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Roanoke.
Above all, Dr. White is a committed to providing the highest quality dental care to his patients. He values each patient as an individual and is devoted to getting to know his patient's specific needs and helping them maintain lifelong dental health with a friendly, personal touch.
